Descripción:
3-(1H-Imidazol-1-ylmethyl)piperidine is a potent and selective aromatase inhibitor that inhibits the production of estrogen in postmenopausal women. It has been shown to have a high inhibitory activity against human breast cancer cells in vitro, with an IC50 value of less than 10 μM. This compound also has antiestrogenic effects on the uterus and vagina, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the synthesis of estrogens by inhibiting the enzyme aromatase. 3-(1H-Imidazol-1-ylmethyl)piperidine binds to the receptor for estrogen and can therefore be used as an alternative treatment for breast cancer.
