Descripción:VER-49009 is a small molecule amide that inhibits chaperones. Chaperones are proteins that function in the cell to suppress protein aggregation and facilitate protein folding. VER-49009 has been shown to inhibit the heat-shock protein HSP90 and the chaperone Hsp70, which are important for cancer progression. The compound also has an anticancer effect on human ovarian carcinoma cells in vitro and in vivo. The localization of VER-49009 is not yet known, but it may be present in tissues with high levels of HSP90 or Hsp70.
