• Descripción: Parstatin is a neuroprotective protein that is derived from the ovaries of non-human animals. It has been shown to be effective in treating depression and Parkinson's disease, as well as carbonic anhydrase inhibition. This protein may also have a role in regulating neurotransmitter release and adrenergic receptor activation. Parstatin binds to α2-adrenergic receptors and inhibits the activity of these receptors. The binding of parstatin to α2-adrenergic receptors has been shown to inhibit the release of both dopamine and norepinephrine.
