7-Hydroxycoumarin is a reactive, cellular and detoxified compound that has been shown to be metabolized through a number of metabolic transformations. The most important reactions are oxidative reactions with nitrosamines. 7-Hydoxycoumarin has been evaluated for its potential use in the evaluation of liver S9 metabolic activity and bronchial epithelial cells. This compound has also been shown to be metabolized by the drug metabolism system as well as detoxifying reactive compounds such as tobacco smoke toxicants.
