It may inhibit tumor cell proliferation by suppressing the activity of cancer cells, or by inhibiting the production of hydrogen sulfate, which is necessary for tumor cell proliferation. 2-Methyl-2-morpholinopropanal has also been shown to have denitrification and desulfurization properties. It can be used to remove nitrate from water supplies and can also reduce sulfur emissions from coal power plants.
