(1R,2S,5R)-2-Isopropyl-5-methyl-cyclohexanecarboxylic acid is a liquid that is used in the synthesis of ethyl alcohol. It is produced by the condensation of benzene and acetone and reacts with sulfuric acid to form a mixture of dimethylbenzene, methanol, and water.
