Descripción:Betamethasone 9(11)-ene is an impurity of betamethasone. It is a synthetic steroidal compound and a potent anti-inflammatory drug. It has been used in the treatment of inflammatory skin conditions such as psoriasis, eczema, and dermatitis. Betamethasone 9(11)-ene can be synthesized by the oxidation of betamethasone with hydrogen peroxide or with sodium metaperiodate. The synthesis is carried out in an organic solvent such as chloroform, dichloromethane or acetone.
