Descripción:2-Amino-3-hydroxybenzamide is a benzamide, which is a class of natural products. It has been shown to have anti-candida activity against Candida albicans and to inhibit the growth of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli. 2-Amino-3-hydroxybenzamide has been isolated from the marine sponge Eucheuma cottonii and has been shown to be active against glioma cells. The compound was found to bind with high affinity to DNA, which inhibits DNA synthesis by preventing the unwinding of DNA strands. This inhibition leads to cell death by inhibiting protein synthesis or affecting other cellular processes.
