Oleyl Chloride inhibits the enzyme lipase, which breaks down triglycerides into free fatty acids and glycerol. This inhibition leads to an increase in the amount of free fatty acids and triglycerides circulating in the blood. In addition, Oleyl Chloride enhances hydrolysis of phospholipids by increasing their solubility in water, making it easier for them to be taken up by cells. Oleyl Chloride has been used to treat basophilic leukemia.
