3-(2-Pyridin-4-ylethyl)-1H-indole is a 5-membered heteroaryl that inhibits the activity of the p38 kinase and c-jun N-terminal kinase, which are enzymes involved in inflammatory responses. It also has anti-inflammatory effects by inhibiting leukotriene receptor antagonists and cycline phosphatases. 3-(2-Pyridin-4-ylethyl)-1H-indole has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of the enzyme TNFα, which is involved in metabolic disorders such as obesity and diabetes. This drug also has dopamine agonist properties that may be beneficial for treating Parkinson's disease.
