2-Undecylimidazole is a molecule that contains an inorganic acid group. It is a proton donor and has the ability to form hydrogen bonds with other molecules. 2-Undecylimidazole can be found in biological products such as antibiotics, antifungals, and antiparasitics. The phase transition temperature of 2-undecylimidazole is around 23° Celsius (73.4° Fahrenheit). The activation energies for 2-undecylimidazole are around 18 kcal/mol. 2-Undecylimidazole has been shown to inhibit in vitro growth of fungi by binding to the fungal cell wall or membrane and inhibiting proton transport across the cell wall or membrane. It also acts as a corrosion inhibitor on metal surfaces.
