Mes hydrate is an analytical reagent that is used to measure the amount of soluble carbohydrates in plant extracts. It is a monoclonal antibody that binds to the sugars, which are then detected using a fluorescence probe. Mes hydrate has been shown to be more effective than other methods for measuring soluble carbohydrate content and can be used as a model system for understanding cellular metabolism.
