Descripción:Folinate calcium pentahydrate is an analog of folic acid that has been used as an anticancer agent in the treatment of various types of tumors and cancers. This drug works by inhibiting the activity of dihydrofolate reductase, which is involved in the synthesis of DNA and RNA. Folinate calcium pentahydrate has been shown to be effective against caffeine-induced apoptosis in human cancer cells and can also inhibit the activity of protein kinase inhibitors. Additionally, this drug has been found to have a synergistic effect with oxytocin in inhibiting tumor growth in Chinese hamsters. Folinate calcium pentahydrate may be excreted unchanged or as metabolites in urine, making it a suitable option for patients with renal impairment.
