4-Bromophenyl trifluoromethanesulphonate (4BrTFP) is an organic compound that is synthesized by a cross-coupling reaction from 4-bromophenyl trifluoroacetate and aryl chloride. The yield of this reaction can be optimized by using chlorides as the electrophile, which are more reactive than iodides. The mechanism of this reaction is not well understood, but it has been shown to proceed through a transfer of the bromine atom from the reactant to the palladium complex.
