Fenoxaprop-ethyl is a herbicide that inhibits the activity of the enzyme fatty acid synthase, which is involved in the synthesis of fatty acids. It also has significant interactions with the polymerase chain reaction (PCR), an important technique for DNA amplification. Fenoxaprop-ethyl is stable in low light and at high temperatures, and its chemical stability is increased by hydrochloric acid or monoclonal antibody. Fenoxaprop-ethyl has been shown to be toxic to animals in toxicity studies, but its effects on human health are not known.
