Tralomethrin is an insecticide that belongs to the class of pyrethroid compounds. It is a metabolite of permethrin, which is a chemical compound that has been used as an insecticide and acaricide. Tralomethrin inhibits the activity of the cytochrome P450 enzyme, which is involved in the synthesis of fatty acids and cholesterol. Tralomethrin also has been shown to have acute toxicities, such as cardiotoxic effects, neurotoxicity, and ecotoxicological effects. Tralomethrin has been shown to affect energy metabolism by increasing blood glucose levels and reducing oxygen consumption in rats.
