Complanatuside is a natural product extracted from Astragali Radix and Fructus Ligustri, which are traditional Chinese herbs. It has been shown to have anti-inflammatory effects by inhibiting the production of IL-10, an important cytokine in inflammation. Complanatuside also has significant cytotoxicity in k562 cells and showed significant inhibition of tumor growth in mice with colon cancer. Complanatuside shows low bioavailability due to its high molecular weight and fatty acid content, which may be due to its matrix effect. The lack of sufficient clinical data prevents the determination of its deficiency type or efficacy for other types of tumors.
