It has been shown to inhibit the binding of histamine to its receptors, thereby preventing the action of histamine on its target cells. Ald-pH-amido-C2-nitrate is a very potent ligand for the human histamine H1 receptor with an IC50 value of 0.07 nM. It is also a highly selective ligand for this receptor, with a Kd value of 1.9 nM.
