Descripción:Cilengitide is a new chemotherapeutic agent that was shown to be effective against renal cell cancer in vitro. Cilengitide inhibits the polymerase chain reaction, arresting the growth of cells. It has minimal toxicity and natural compounds, which make it a promising drug for the treatment of human cancers. Cilengitide binds to integrin receptors on malignant brain cells and inhibits their ability to migrate, inducing apoptosis. This drug also inhibits the production of chemoattractant protein and can be used as an adjuvant therapy for radiation and antibiotic-resistant strains of bacteria.
