This compound inhibits the activity of kinases, which are proteins that play a key role in cell signaling pathways. It also induces apoptosis, or programmed cell death, in cancer cells. 4-Methyl-1-(3-methyl-2-pyridinyl)-2-phenylpiperazine has been found to be a promising analog to other kinase inhibitors, such as ginsenoside Rg3 and glutathione S-transferase inhibitors. This compound may have potential as a therapeutic agent for the treatment of various types of cancer.
