Descripción

3-(tert-Butyldimethylsiloxy)thiophenol is a mesylate with vasodilatory and vasoconstrictive properties. It has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of the enzyme guanylate cyclase, which is involved in the production of cGMP. This drug also has an inhibitory effect on oxygenase activity in vitro. 3-(tert-Butyldimethylsiloxy)thiophenol is used as a vasodilator in animals and humans at high doses, while low doses are used for its vasoconstrictive effects. This drug increases the responsiveness to phenylephrine and other stimulant drugs. 3-(tert-Butyldimethylsiloxy)thiophenol is most commonly used for hypertension, chronic hypoxic pulmonary hypertension, or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
