Pavinetant is a drug that interacts with the neurokinin-1 receptor. It is being studied as a treatment for polycystic ovarian syndrome in women. Pavinetant has been shown to have a concentration-time curve similar to those of the anti-depressants, trazodone and fluoxetine. This drug also has an antagonist effect on the neurokinin-1 receptor, which may be due to its ability to inhibit heteromers. Pavinetant can be used in humans, but it is not yet known whether it will have any effects on cancer cells.
