This compound has been shown to have antimicrobial activity against a variety of bacteria, including methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus and Mycobacterium tuberculosis. 14-Pentadecenoic acid is used in the synthesis of amides and fatty esters, which are used as surfactants and cationic surfactants in various industrial applications.
