• Descripción: The lipid 1,2-didecanoylglycerol (1,2-DG) is a substrate molecule for lipolytic enzymes and has been shown to inhibit the activation of these enzymes by binding to the enzyme's active site. It also has inhibitory properties against ATP sensitive K+ channels and intracellular Ca2+ levels. The phase transition temperature for 1,2-DG is higher than that of other phospholipids, which may be responsible for its inhibition of the enzyme activity. Additional studies are needed to determine the clinical relevance of 1,2-DG in humans.
