Descripción

1,3-Diethyl-1,1,3,3-tetramethyldisilazane is a colorless liquid that has an odor. It is soluble in water and can be used as an amide source. 1,3-Diethyl-1,1,3,3-tetramethyldisilazane has a high boiling point of 177 °C and low viscosity. It is also ferroelectric when it is heated to temperatures above 150 °C. 1,3-Diethyl-1,1,3,3-tetramethyldisilazane will deprotonate in alkali metal solutions and form amine salts that are volatile with boiling points lower than 150 °C. The optical properties of this compound are yet to be determined.
