Descripción:Myricadiol is a compound that belongs to the group of antimicrobial agents. It is a natural product or synthetic derivative of protocatechuic acid, which has been shown to have bactericidal activity against Gram-positive bacteria. Myricadiol is not active against Gram-negative bacteria, yeast, and fungi. The cytotoxic effects of myricadiol are dose dependent and significant at concentrations above 50 μg/mL. This agent has been shown to inhibit the proliferation of cancer cells in vitro and in vivo. Myricadiol also exhibits anti-inflammatory properties, which may be due to its inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis.
