Diisobutyldimethoxysilane is a diphenyl ether that is used as a chemical substance and has been shown to be effective in the synthesis of polymers for use as control agents. It can also be used as an organometallic catalyst for the preparation of ester compounds, which are organic compounds that contain an ester group. This chemical has been shown to undergo hydrolysis by esterases and oxidation by cytochrome P450 enzymes. The compound has also been found to be a potent electron donor, which contributes to its effectiveness as a catalyst.
