PF-06747711 is a retinoid that binds to the retinoic acid receptor (RAR) and RAR-related orphan receptor (ROR) in the cell nucleus. These receptors are involved in the regulation of gene transcription, which controls the expression of proteins. PF-06747711 has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of inflammation and autoimmune diseases. It selectively binds with high affinity to RAR-α, RAR-γ, and RAR-β isoforms, as well as with low affinity to other retinoic acid receptor isoforms (RAR-β2 and RAR-δ). This drug also has proinflammatory effects on cytokine production.
