1,3-Dihydro-1-methoxyisobenzofuran is a reactive chemical compound that can be used to synthesize other compounds. This chemical is an intermediate in the synthesis of 1,2-dihydrobenzofuran, which is a precursor to the pharmaceutical drug clonidine. The isolation and identification of this compound was first described by J. G. H. Moulton in 1892.
