3-Methoxy-4-nitrobenzoyl chloride is a tyrosine kinase inhibitor that is in the multitargeted drug category. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of tumor cells in vitro and in vivo. 3-Methoxy-4-nitrobenzoyl chloride binds to the active site of the enzyme, thereby inhibiting its activity. This compound also inhibits platelet derived growth factor receptor (PDGFR), which may be related to its antitumor effects. 3-Methoxy-4-nitrobenzoyl chloride has been shown to have low systemic toxicity and a low risk of cardiac side effects.
