Descripción:N-Methylindole-5-boronic acid is a regioselective antimicrobial agent that inhibits microbial growth. This compound has been shown to inhibit the growth of both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, as well as fungi, in vitro. N-Methylindole-5-boronic acid has been shown to be effective against strains of Escherichia coli, Bacillus subtilis, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The antimicrobial activity of this compound was tested using an X-ray analysis and was found to bind strongly to the bacterial cell wall in a regioselective manner.
