Descripción:Rigosertib is a small molecule that inhibits the activity of DNA methyltransferases. Rigosertib has been shown to have synergistic effects with other drugs, including anti-inflammatory agents, and is being studied as a potential treatment for cancer. Rigosertib has minimal toxicity in mice, with no signs of weight loss or hair loss at doses up to 5000 mg/kg, or death at 10,000 mg/kg. In a model system, rigosertib inhibited the growth of leukemia cells without affecting normal cells. Rigosertib may be useful for treating cancers such as breast cancer and prostate cancer because it blocks the tumor's ability to grow by inhibiting cell division.
