Ethyl tricosanoate is a fatty acid that is found in the esterified form in animal and vegetable fats and oils. It has been shown to have anticancer properties, specifically in the treatment of cervical cancer. It also has antioxidant properties, which may be due to its ability to inhibit lipid peroxidation by reacting with hydroperoxides. Ethyl tricosanoate can be used for the production of biodiesel, which is a renewable energy source. This product can be used as an alternative fuel because it does not cause any significant changes in engine performance or emissions. Ethyl tricosanoate also reversibly inhibits HIV infection via inhibition of viral RNA synthesis, protein synthesis, and reverse transcriptase activity.
