2,4-Dianilino-6-(4-morpholinyl)-1,3,5-triazine (2,4-DMA) belongs to the group of herbicides that inhibit the synthesis of protein in plants. It is a triazine compound with a nitro group on the 6 position. 2,4-DMA is used as an anticancer drug and has been shown to be effective against some types of cancer. 2,4-DMA also inhibits the growth of some bacteria and has been shown to have toxic effects on cells. The gene product encoded by this chemical is involved in cell cycle regulation and apoptosis. This gene product is also related to disease activity in patients with cancer.
