It has been shown to inhibit the activity of CK1 in vitro and in vivo, which may be important for the treatment of cancers with mutations in CK1. PF 5006739 also has potential as a therapeutic for animal models of metabolic disorders and neurodegenerative diseases. It inhibits the activity of p38 MAP kinases, which are involved in inflammatory responses and cancer development. PF 5006739 is a potent inhibitor of adipose tissue casein kinase 1 (AT-CK1), which prevents the activation of lipolysis proteins such as hormone-sensitive lipase (HSL).
