Descripción:Nerve growth factor-7S (NGF-7S) is a protein that belongs to the family of nerve growth factors. NGF-7S is a paracrine factor that is thought to be involved in the regulation of immune responses, and regulates neuronal survival. This protein has been shown to have a role in the development of cancer, and may also play a role in modulating tumor progression. It has been found that NGF-7S can regulate the immune response by binding to its receptor, TrkA, on microglia cells. Microglia are involved in neuroinflammatory processes and are present in populations with neurodegenerative diseases. NGF-7S is also involved in regulating populations of tissues that contain these cells. The mechanisms responsible for this regulation are not well understood, but evaluating their effects could lead to new therapeutic targets for neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.END>
