Descripción:Fodipir is a chelating agent that is used for the treatment of metastatic colorectal cancer. Fodipir has been shown to bind to cisplatin, a chemotherapy drug, and prevent it from binding to tissues or cells. This prevents the toxicity of cisplatin on tissues, such as the heart and liver. Fodipir also protects against platinum-based chemotherapy by preventing cell lysis and DNA damage in the myocardium. Fodipir may be useful in diagnosing conditions that require imaging because it is not absorbed by the body, allowing for clear images without interference from other molecules.
