6-Chloro-2-hydroxy-quinoline-4-carboxylic acid is a molecule that has a high affinity for binding hydroxyl groups. It is biodegradable and can be used to conjugate with monoclonal antibodies or other molecules. 6-Chloro-2-hydroxy-quinoline-4-carboxylic acid also has anticancer activity and is effective in chemotherapy against murine l1210 leukemia cells. 6CHCQCA can be used as a diagnostic tool because it binds to target tissue and can be detected using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) or by an enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).
