The inhibition of nitric oxide synthesis blocks the platelet aggregation response to collagen, which may be due to its ability to inhibit DNA template activity. (R)-Methyl 2-amino-2-cyclobutylacetate HCl also has biological properties that are similar to methyl myristate. This compound can act as a substrate for the enzyme acyl coenzyme A synthetase, leading to its hydrolysis and release of acetic acid.
