PF-06291874 is a monoclonal antibody that binds to the active form of glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1) and inhibits its degradation by dipeptidyl peptidase IV. PF-06291874 is orally administered and has been shown in clinical trials to significantly reduce blood glucose levels in patients with type 2 diabetes. It has also been shown to have pharmacokinetic properties that are different from other GLP-1 receptor agonists, which may allow it to be used as an antidiabetic agent for diabetic patients who cannot use other oral agents.
