• Descripción: 3-Ethoxy-3-oxopropylzinc bromide is a biomolecular compound that is a nonsteroidal modulator of cellular potency. It is an enantiopure molecule that was obtained by crystallographic analysis to determine its stereochemical configuration. The compound has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of the enzyme 3β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase, which converts the steroid hormone testosterone into dihydrotestosterone. The inhibition of this enzyme leads to the accumulation of the inactive form of testosterone, thereby reducing the production of dihydrotestosterone and decreasing cell proliferation. 3-Ethoxy-3-oxopropylzinc bromide is an acid conjugate and can be used to treat patients with prostate cancer or benign prostatic hyperplasia. It also acts as a selective inhibitor for pyridyl groups in proteins.
