Descripción:ML 297 is a drug that is used as an anxiolytic. It has been shown to have a low potency in wild-type mice and has a pharmacokinetic profile that is similar to benzodiazepines. ML297 inhibits the hyperpolarization of neuronal membranes by binding to GABA A receptors, which causes them to open more often, thereby increasing the frequency at which they transmit signals. This drug also has an inhibitory effect on cardiac muscle cells and produces an anxiolytic response in animal models. The molecular mechanism of action for ML297 is not well understood but it may involve the modulation of GABA A receptor subunits or other proteins involved in the regulation of membrane polarization.
