4-Amino-1-methyl-3-(2-methylpropyl)-1H-pyrazole-5-carboxamide (AMPPC) is a sample preparation agent that is used in pharmaceutical formulations. It is used to decrease the viscosity of the solution, which makes it easier to filter and purify. In addition, AMPC has been shown to be effective in removing impurities such as chloride, magnesium, and organic solvents. AMPC has been extensively studied for its ability to inhibit sildenafil citrate (Viagra) degradation. Not only does it have high specificity for sildenafil citrate, but it also does not interfere with other drugs that are sensitive to pH changes or hydrolysis.
