Saracatinib difumarate binds to the ATP-binding site of these enzymes and blocks their activity. Saracatinib difumarate has been shown to inhibit the activity of protein-tyrosine phosphatase 1B (PTP1B), which is an enzyme involved in insulin signaling pathways. Saracatinib difumarate also has been shown to bind to the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), which regulates cell proliferation and survival.
