Descripción:(±)-MDL 105725 is a drug that has been shown to be an atypical antipsychotic. It binds to the serotonin 5-HT2A receptor, which regulates the release of neurotransmitters such as dopamine, epinephrine, and norepinephrine. It also binds to the 5HT1A receptor, which regulates the release of serotonin. The binding affinity for these receptors is high and selective. MDL 105725 has a short half-life in animals and humans and is metabolized by cytochrome P450 enzymes. Human pharmacokinetic studies have shown that it can be detected in urine up to 24 hours after administration.
