AFP 464 has been shown to increase the activation of cancer cells and cause a change in their phenotype. It also has anti-tumor effects on kidney cancer cells and other carcinoma cells. AFP 464 is potently activated by spontaneous sequestration or postulated mechanisms. Treatment with AFP 464 has been shown to produce a decrease in tumor size and weight as well as an increase in life span for mice with kidney cancer.
