Descripción:Pim1/AKK1-IN-1 is a new anticancer drug that is currently in clinical trials. It has been shown to be effective against breast cancer and prostate cancer cells, as well as cells from other types of cancers such as leukemia and lymphoma. This compound induces cell death by binding to DNA and inhibiting the synthesis of proteins needed for cell division. Pim1/AKK1-IN-1 also inhibits estrogen synthesis, which may explain its effectiveness against cancer cells that are dependent on estrogen for survival. There is no information available about the mechanism of action of this drug in women.
