• Descripción: UCPH-101 is a peptide that was developed to treat bladder cancer. It is a trimer of the amino acid glutamate, which is an excitatory neurotransmitter in the brain. UCPH-101 has been shown to inhibit the penetration of glutamate into the brain, thereby reducing neuronal damage and excitotoxicity. The uptake of UCPH-101 in the brain was demonstrated using magnetic resonance spectroscopy in vivo. This analog has not yet been tested on humans, but it has been shown to be effective against cancer cells grown in culture.
