Descripción:3-Dimethylamino-2,2-dimethyl-1-propanol (DMAP) is a chemical compound that is used as a catalyst in organic synthesis. DMAP is used for the preparation of azides and alkyl substituents, as well as for transfer reactions such as vinyl ethers. It can also be used to quaternize functional groups and synthesize low molecular weight compounds. DMAP is insensitive to oxygen, making it possible to carry out reactions under air or vacuum. This property also makes DMAP useful in the synthesis of high molecular weight compounds with a high degree of stereoselectivity.
