Descripción:5,6,7,8-Tetrahydro-3H-quinazolin-4-one is a pharmacological agent that is structurally related to the benzyl and piperidino groups. It has a low toxicity and can be used in peptic ulcer disease, as well as other conditions where this type of drug is indicated. 5,6,7,8-Tetrahydro-3H-quinazolin-4-one has shown some efficacy in treating duodenal ulcers. The drug binds to the H+/K+ ATPase enzyme in the stomach and inhibits gastric acid secretion by binding to the proton pump at the cellular level. This prevents it from functioning normally.
